Nobody’s perfect, but should they try to be?

It seems society and media allows us to place impossible expectations upon ourselves, when in reality even the subject (model) of a cover page cannot live up to those standards. With no cover page model left un(photo)shopped, how can we be be happy with ourselves?
Some people turn to fitness, to gain some sort of control over their body; some people seek plastic surgery. Can going under the knife really help us feel better about ourselves?

I have a gorgeous friend, Molly*. She and her friend, who too is pretty, are planning on getting breast enhancements.

My mother doesn’t like to spend money on unnecessary things, but she once told me “if it’s a problem money can fix, I am willing to spend that for you”. So I told my friend if money can cure her doubt, then I am all for it.

Molly* is tall, lean, pretty… who can imagine she has her own share of body hang ups. The truth is, sometimes the subject does not have as good a perception/observation as the observer does. Another sad truth is, even with plastic surgery, it’s hard to live up to physical ideals when some ideals are too unrealistic for even models to live up to. (Telegraph, 2011)

Personally, if i could fix all my insecurities with money, i would go for it… Unfortunately, even if I had a full body transformation, i doubt i’d be happy with myself.
